And — although they include a potpourri of styles here including salsa-ska, funk plena, descarga, waltz bomba, reggae, mambo, boogaloo, chacha etc. — there does seem to be a cohesive thread that keep Sigue! from floating into disparate pieces.

Firstly, the band is good - fronted by singer Claudia Berchenko whose enthusiasm is infectious throughout the project. And while not every track is perfect, the ones that work, work well. I especially liked "Noviembre 2004" that fine dance number that doubles as a scathing reproach on a certain president.
I also liked the mambo "Let's Go Monos" and the well-done boogaloo track entitled "W.M.D."

The political aspect is clearly a second unifying force on Sigue!
